Early Years

Following on from the success of our Foundation Phase lesson plans, we have a created an activity pack and training resource for Early Years settings.

We would like to thank the children who took part in the resource trial for their helpful and honest feedback.

This resource will support you to introduce and embed children’s rights in your setting. The resource includes responsive planning ideas for you to use in your setting. We’ve also included ideas for songs and books that you can use in your setting:

Resource

Some settings may prefer to use lesson plans, we have created 4 lesson plans for settings to use to explore children’s rights:

This training will launch in June 2022.

“We Stand Together,” this song explores children’s rights and talks about the things children need to grow up happy, healthy and safe. The song was written and composed by Sara Lewis, Dyfan Jones and Year 3 from Creigiau Primary School.

We suggest singing the song in a circle with your group, with you leading the actions (you may want to use Makaton Signs).
