Resource for children with Additional Learning Needs

Download the resource (Opens as Word Document)

We’ve made this resource to help adults who support children with additional learning needs. It includes a specific resource for children with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD).

We’d like to say a sincere thank you to Ysgol Ty Coch in Tonteg who developed this resource for us.

What we’ll do with the answers

Your answers will help us to understand children’s lives and experiences.

This will help us to tell the Welsh Government what they need to do to make children’s lives better.

Next year, we’ll publish a work plan based on our survey responses. This will show the work we’ll do as an office to influence positive changes for children.

About the Children’s Commissioner

Rocio Cifuentes is the Children’s Commissioner for Wales.

Our office promotes and protects children’s rights in Wales. All children under the age of 18 have rights under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Our office is independent, and not a part of the Welsh Government.

We work for every child in Wales who is:

  • Up to the age of 18
  • Up to the age of 21 if they’ve been in care, or 25 if they’ve been in care and are still in education

If you need advice

We have a free and independent advice service. You can contact us if you feel that your child:
  • has been treated unfairly
  • isn’t getting their rights
