Commenting on the MAPF Independent Review Report, Rocio Cifuentes MBE said:
“Today’s report highlights some key issues that I’ve spoken out about previously, around support for children while waiting for assessments and services, and the pressures on schools to meet increasingly complex needs, particularly since the Covid pandemic.
“The Welsh Government’s behaviour summit earlier this year recognised these issues and started a conversation on what needs to happen for all learners to feel supported and safe in school. This report gives some clear recommendations to take these issues forward and I’ll be discussing with Welsh Government and others to ensure resources and systems are put in place to make sure all children have the support they need.”
