Responding to the final report of the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse, published on 20 October 2022, Rocio Cifuentes MBE said:
“This inquiry’s extensive work, including the harrowing experiences bravely shared by thousands of survivors, must result in permanent changes across our society to protect children from abuse. The inquiry has listened; as a society we must now respond by ensuring that procedures are strengthened to keep children safe from abuse and exploitation.
“I have requested the Welsh Government coordinate and publish a Welsh Implementation Plan, showing how the Government and other public bodies in Wales will implement the recommendations in this report.
“I will continue to bring relevant public bodies together in order to monitor their progress, and to help facilitate the sharing of information and good practice.”
