All children and young people have 42 rights under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
These 42 rights give you what you need to grow up feeling happy, healthy and safe.

The Commissioner
Rocio Cifuentes is the Children’s Commissioner for Wales.
She started her job in April 2022, and she will be the Children’s Commissioner for seven years.
Her job is to listen to the things that matter to you and to tell others what they should do to make children’s lives better.
She has had lots of different jobs, including running a charity and being a teacher.
She speaks Spanish and English, and is learning Welsh.
Rocio came to Wales as a refugee when she was a baby with her parents who were fleeing the Pinochet dictatorship in Chile in the 1970s. In this video, Rocio tells her story:
