Commenting on developments relating to the Church in Wales, Rocio Cifuentes MBE said:
“The situation at the Church in Wales poses the same questions that I’ve repeatedly raised with the Welsh Government, and questions that were asked by the IICSA inquiry. There is a stark lack of independent oversight of safeguarding arrangements in religious institutions, and a need for much stronger external accountability in this area. This should be another reminder to the Welsh Government that they need to act on these calls without further delay.”
