Recruitment: two new Independent (non-Executive) Members to sit on the Children’s Commissioner’s Audit and Risk Assurance Committee
We aspire to a Wales where all children and young people have an equal chance to be the best that they can be.
We’d love to find members for our Audit and Risk Assurance Committee who are as passionate as us about achieving positive outcomes in the lives of children and young people in Wales and their ability to access their rights.
We’re seeking two new independent members to sit on our Audit and Risk Assurance Committee. Members will be expected to scrutinise, challenge and provide independent advice to the Commissioner on how her office is governed, how it manages risk and how effective and efficient the team applies public funds.
These members are required to have financial skills with a background in financial management either in the public or private sector or experience in reviewing the comprehensiveness and reliability of assurances on governance and risk management either in the public or private sector. Experience of leading, conducting or reviewing audit activity is highly desirable as is legal experience. Experience and/or knowledge of children’s rights is also desirable.
The appointment is for a term of three years and members will be invited to start in post in January 2021. The post is not remunerated but expenses are reimbursed.
Interested individuals are encouraged to submit a CV and covering letter by email to firstname.lastname@example.org before 5pm on 6 November 2020 explaining:
- Which parts of the role you are interested in and why;
- What skills and experience you have to fulfil the requirements of the role; and
- What you would add to this Committee if successful.
We welcome enquiries from everyone and greatly value diversity in our workforce. We would particularly welcome applications from underrepresented groups. A large print, braille or audio version of this advert is available on request.
