Participation Officer – Vacancy

  • Participation Officer (fixed term for a minimum of 6 months to a maximum of 12 months)

  • Up to 35 hours per week

  • Salary: £31, 210 per annum for full time hours

Our office premises are located in a bright modern office in Port Talbot, close to the main line train station.

We have an All Wales remit so there is some requirement to travel across Wales.

We are open to exploring a secondment from your current Employer or part time working.

We can support you to work your hours flexibly in order to maintain a good work life balance but also to suit peak demands in our calendar of events with occasional evenings, weekends or public holidays.

What you’ll be doing:

As a Participation Officer, you’ll be working closely with all members of the Commissioners staff team to support their work with children and young people. You will play a key role in ensuring that the Commissioner’s Strategic plan and direction is shaped by the thinking and opinions of children and young people in Wales.

What skills will you need?

  • previous knowledge and experience of working with children and young people,
  • the ability to demonstrate knowledge and experience of communication and participation methods,
  • Oodles of creativity and innovation particularly when it comes to meeting the communication needs of children and young people.
